Happy Easter! Case Studies are now coming in for the 2024 edition of the Case Studies pack. Since 2017, we have produced printed Case Study packs for distribution at our in-person events across the UK. We are confident that we can produce a publication that is bursting with some of the great innovations of how our members work with local communities to deliver services under the cloud of austerity.

Although it’s been a challenge to encourage responses this year, the calibre of submissions has been excellent and we’re featuring some of the latest submissions in this edition: Telford & Wrekin Council, Swindon Borough Council, Lewes District Council, Oldham Council, Lewisham Council, Wigan Council and Manchester City Council.
This month you will also find Trafford Council is offering FREE Active Bystander Training for all Members. The session is offered as part of their Policy Lab on Tackling Violence against Women and Girls. We also feature a couple of videos from two of our Affiliate Members; the first is Unlimited Potential which reflects on what it means to local people to live well, and the second is from the Urban Agriculture Consortium, which looks at ‘What is the Green Belt’ – an important topic as we approach the General Election. We also feature a report from Locality on the role of community organisations in creating inclusive communities.
We begin with a report back on the three day Study Visit to Emilia-Romagna.
I hope you enjoy this edition of Update and your Bank Holiday weekend.
Best wishes
Louise
