CCIN Members’ Update July 2017

  • 17th Jul 2017

Cllr Sharon Taylor - Chair of the CCIN & Leader of Stevenage Borough CouncilWe have lots to report on this month including the launch of our Associate, Affiliate and Supporter Membership Schemes, as we seek to encourage more councils from across the UK to join the Network.  Our new Membership extends to Town and Parish Councils, Opposition Groups, NGOs, Corporations and Individuals.

Over the last few weeks we have been especially busy promoting the Network at events.  We have had an exhibition presence and Fringe meeting at the Co-operative Party Local Government Conference in Birmingham (24 June), sponsored the Co-operative of the Year Awards and exhibited at Co-operative Congress in Wakefield (30 June – 1 July).  And, last week we had an impressive presence at the Local Government Association Annual Conference again in Birmingham (4 – 6 July).

I’ve also had the opportunity to Chair my first meeting of the Executive Oversight Committee and to meet up with members of the Values and Principles Board when we held a joint session on Health and Social Care in Wakefield with experts from across the sector.

I look forward to meeting many more of you at our AGM which has been scheduled for 5 and 6 September in Oldham.  More details to follow.

We also have a blog from our Honorary President, Steve Reed OBE MP.  I hope that you enjoy this month’s edition of Update.
