CCIN Members’ Update April 2018

This month I’ve had the pleasure of meeting with Andy Burnham at his offices in Manchester. I was delighted to hear that Cllr Allen Brett (Rochdale), Cllr Jean Stretton (Oldham) and City Mayor Paul Dennett (Salford) are all members of the Greater Manchester Cabinet. We discussed the potential for collaboration on a range of projects including homelessness and place-based devolution in a post-Brexit Britain. I look forward to sharing these ideas with you over the coming months.
I’m delighted to announce that our 2018 Annual Conference, will be hosted by Cllr Tony Newman and Croydon Council on Friday 22nd June. We will send out further details soon, in the meantime please save the date.
For the next five weeks’ colleagues from across the UK will be contesting elections. Each of us hoping that the democratic process will return councillors who are committed to improving the lives of all those that they represent. Good luck to everyone!
