CCIN Members’ Update July 2018

  • 25th Jul 2018

Councillor Sharon Taylor, Chair of the CCINIt’s been another very busy month for the Network as we continue to promote our message of local leadership, genuine co-operation and service delivery to build strong and resilient neighbourhoods.

We were delighted to have the support of Jim McMahon MP promote the Network and our Case Studies at the Co-operative Party Local Government Conference on 9th June in London.  We now have over 150 Case Studies on our website which are well worth a look.

Our Fringe at Co-operative Congress on 23rd June was kindly chaired by Nick Matthews, Chair of Co-operatives UK.  We heard new Council Leaders, Sean Fielding (Oldham) and Danny Thorpe (Greenwich) along with Cllr Fay Cunningham (South Tyneside) and Julian Ellerby (Croydon) share their experience of Local Democracy in Action.

From 3rd – 5th July, we exhibited at the LGA Conference, in Birmingham.  The annual CCIN presence is a fabulous opportunity to meet up with existing members and prospective members.  Sincere thanks to Affiliate Members, Oxygen Finance who organised a social fringe during the event to which they invited our Members along.
