CCIN Members’ Update Post Conference Special October 2018

  • 10th Oct 2018

Cllr Sharon Taylor, Chair CCINWow, what an amazing Conference!  From our fabulous speakers across all levels of government, to the wonderful welcome from our friends at Croydon Council, to the amazing Panel discussions and world-class keynote speakers – it really was an empowering and engaging programme.  I felt that it was our best conference to date – with councils from across the country taking part and sharing their stories. Thank you for making it so!

My thanks also to Connected Space, one of our Affiliate Members, who hosted a fabulous Pre-Conference reception on Wednesday evening.

Some of the Conference highlights are mentioned below.  I would encourage everyone that attended to take advantage of the ideas that you heard and the many contacts that you made and use these to help drive global municipal co-operative policy.

Finally, I would like to thank Cllr Tony Newman and his team for hosting such a memorable Conference, our keynote speakers: Steve Reed OBE, MP – our Honorary President and Shadow Minister for Civil Society, Lord Kennedy of Southwark – Shadow Minister for Local Government and Cllr Nick Crofts – President of the Co-operative Group National Members’ Council; our Panel Chairs: Cllr Lib Peck – Leader of Lambeth Council, Cllr Matthew Brown – Leader of Preston City Council and all of our speakers from across the Co-operative Sector and beyond.

I hope that you enjoy this Special Edition of Update.
