Branding.coop provides hands-on support and guidance to organisations wishing to promote their cooperative identity. We believe that the co-operative business model should be mainstream. Since June 2016 we have managed the communications, governance, marketing, events and membership schemes for the Co-operative Councils’ Innovation Network. During that time the Network has grown from 19 councils to more than 100 members and supporters.

Co-operative and Mutual Solutions (CMS) is a workers co-op specialising in co-operative business support and advice. Founded in 2002 we have 3 member directors. Although based in the North West of England, we work all over the UK. We work with groups of people in start-up situations, trading co-operatives and with business owners/workers in succession situations. CMS works with the full range of co-operative types: worker (including self-employed), community, multi-stakeholder and have advised co-ops in a wide range of sectors. We have helped communities raise £30m in community shares over the last decade in order to save/create assets such as pubs, shops, music venues and renewable energy.

Co-operative Care Colne Valley, registered as Colne Valley Equitable Care Society Ltd is a multi-stakeholder co-operative established to provide both high-quality domiciliary care for older and disabled people in the Colne Valley, and fair and proper terms and conditions of employment for care staff. We are a community based small scale, caring co-operative which puts people before profit. People needing care and support, families, care workers and community volunteers will be treated with dignity and respect as equal members of a dynamic and democratic enterprise.

Founded in 1919, The Co-operative College is an educational charity based in Manchester that works across the world, using co-operative values to equip individuals and communities with the skills and knowledge to transform their lives for the better. As a membership-based organisation, the College delivers inspirational training, conferences, professional development and thought provoking workshops. The College’s life changing work includes projects in countries such as Rwanda, Sri Lanka and Malawi, as well as towns closer to home like Rochdale in Greater Manchester, the birthplace of the modern co-operative movement. Founded in 2000 it was set up to provide direct advice and support services and to engage in debates to find mutual solutions for challenges being faced by communities. Cooperatives West Midlands is the Regional Cooperative Council for the West Midlands region in England. Our aims are to promote the cooperative business model within the region and to practise the sixth cooperative principle by enabling coops to talk and network with each other. We are run by a management committee made up of representatives of all types of cooperatives within the West Midlands. Our sister organisation, the West Midlands Cooperatives Member Education Group, organises educational activities for cooperators across the region.

A consortium of ten Co-operative Development Bodies from around the UK, The Development Co-operative Limited (DC) aims to ensure there is a coherent and professional co-operative development and consultancy service available nationally, regionally and locally able to initiate the development of CDB infrastructure, respond swiftly to opportunities and systematically replicate success. The current DC members include CDAs serving Leicestershire, Somerset, Cornwall, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, and Greenwich, and established co-op consultancies CAN, Co-operative Solutions and United Diversity. They bring 150 years of co-operative experience, have raised over £5m investment in co-ops and have brought assets worth of £50m into common ownership.

Lambeth GP Food Co-op is a co-operative of patients, doctors, nurses and Lambeth residents who grow food together. Since 2013, we have built gardens in GP surgeries designed to support patients with long-term health conditions to learn how to grow food and, by doing so improve their health and wellbeing. Our aim is to make a significant contribution to improving the lives of local people living with multiple long-term conditions (including long COVID) and the instability of the health and social care system.

LocalGov Drupal is a collaboration between local councils across the UK and Ireland. Together we've developed a best-practice, open-source publishing platform that is freely available to all councils. It's a public digital asset created by councils for councils. We’re motivated by a desire to help other councils deliver the best possible digital experience for citizens and reduce the risks and costs associated with council websites. We want as many people as possible to benefit from this project.

Plinth is a Community Impact Platform helping Councils to use data to work more closely with their community organisations. We provide a free platform to community groups that they can use to manage client details and case notes, take bookings for activities and analyse and report on their impact. Councils can use that data, in real-time, to help understand the impact of grant funding or commissioning, reach into more communities, and get a better understanding of support available in their local area.

Community businesses are locally rooted, community-led, trade for community benefit and make life better for local people. The 9,000 community businesses across England, own assets worth £890m, and employ 33,600 people. Community businesses create great products and services, provide employment and training, contribute to inclusive local economies and transform lives. We support them through investment; capacity building; research and policy; and market development with stakeholders including local authorities & many others. Power to Change received its endowment from the National Lottery Community Fund in 2015.

Stir to Action is a co-operative that builds a democratic economy through training programmes, strategic economic development, and a regular national magazine. We focus on the role of democratic ownership in creating the conditions to transform economic inequality, social exclusion, the climate emergency, mental health crisis, and our political culture. For nearly ten years we’ve been creating forums for democratic business practitioners and policymakers through residential, regional, and online learning experiences, festivals, conferences, and our quarterly publication.

At TechResort, we work to tackle digital exclusion, and share digital skills for all in our community. On a day-to-day basis, this means running free to access drop-in sessions at our base and at community venues, alongside support organisations. We help people gradually build up their digital confidence in an informal environment, allowing them to increasingly start to interact with the online world. We also run a device donation scheme (donating over 185 devices in 2023) to help those with no access get online, and help local authorities and other third sector organisations increase their awareness of digital exclusion.

We believe that by working together people can make a difference - We use archive and museum collections to engage modern audiences with the ways the co-op movement has shaped our society and can be a meaningful force for positive change.

Two Generations CIC is an award-winning social enterprise tackling loneliness and fostering friendship between generations through Homeshare. We match people who live alone (typically older people or those with disabilities) and have a spare room, with younger people who can provide an overnight presence, companionship and some help with household chores. Our homeshares provide an affordable low to intermediate level support that is tailored to the needs of individuals. They reduce loneliness, falls and “front door” demand on GPs and adult social care; accelerate hospital discharge; and promote digital inclusion, all while providing affordable accommodation for the younger person. The Urban Agriculture Consortium (UAC) brings people, ideas, expertise and organisations together across the UK to co-create the conditions for urban and peri-urban agroecology to thrive and build generative relationships. We're a small, grant-funded project that works as a catalyst to amplify, accelerate and add value to what is trying to emerge as we find ourselves deepening into times of vulnerability and transition. We work on areas like policy development, access to land through mapping, land use planning and food, regional city/town/county clusters, farm start feasibility and more.
