Stevenage Borough Council is working with children and young people to improve play areas across the town. In 2016/17, children and young people were given the exciting opportunity to design their local play area by choosing their five favourite pieces of play equipment. We then worked with our chosen play equipment provider to make sure that the most popular play items chosen by the children would be included in the new designs.

Six play areas have already been improved using the children’s ideas. As well as swings and climbing frames, the play areas include a zip wire, basketball hoops, climbing wall, rocking boat and a dinosaur domain.
