Can cooperative localism create thriving economies?
With the launch of the findings of its rapid policy commission on employment and enterprise due in late February, this Cooperative Councils Innovation Network (CCIN) event asks how cooperative localism can help create thriving economies based on enterprise and fairness, sustained through new forms of social partnership that tap into the wealth of knowledge, assets and relationships that exist within our local communities.
The event will explore how new ‘cooperative’ deals can be struck with citizens, business and Government to make our local economies work better for everyone, and to ensure that our system of employment, skills and enterprise is fit for the twenty first century.
Confirmed speakers include:
Cllr Andrew Burns, Leader of City of Edinburgh Council and Chair of the CCIN
Cllr Lib Peck, Leader of Lambeth Council and Chair of the CCIN Policy Commission on Community Resilience, Jobs and Enterprise
Cllr Darren Cooper, Leader of Sandwell Council
The event will be chaired by Abigail Meville, the RSA’s lead on the CCIN.
