FREE Webinar on a CCIN Policy Lab: Co-operative Values Driven AI – a new guidance framework

Councils nationwide are under increasing financial pressure, and artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly being considered a solution. However, as stewards of critical public services, council officers and elected members cannot simply embrace the ‘go fast and break things’ mentality prevalent in many parts of the private sector. When they get it wrong, real people’s lives are impacted.

Mutual Ventures has worked with councils from the CCIN to develop a guidance framework based on cooperative principles to help people assess AI’s potential and suitability. It focuses on providing the basic knowledge necessary to ask pertinent questions and ensure the ethical and cooperative exploration and adoption of AI.

This free webinar will explore this framework and its practical applications, including:

  • the main use cases for AI,
  • the key enablers within an organisation,
  • important risks and mitigations, and
  • how to align the adoption of AI with ethical CCIN Principles.

CCIN Chair Cllr Jim Robbins will chair the webinar, which will include contributions from Rob Gregory, Assistant Director of Digital Transformation and Intelligence at Wigan Council, and Andrew Laird, the Chief Executive of Mutual Ventures, who co-led the production of the guidance framework.

You can access the full framework here.
