As the cost of living crisis bites, the deep inequalities in our society are increasingly plain to see. The need for a different approach – that builds inclusive economies and social and economic justice – has never been clearer or more urgent. This conference will show that effective cooperative solutions already exist, built on sound values and principles, and that through wider cooperation – across communities and social movements, between public, private and third sectors – we can scale these out widely and quickly.
Effective partnerships between local and city-region authorities – especially those pursuing community wealth-building strategies – cooperative development practitioners, and local communities, offer rich opportunities to grow thriving cooperative economies that are inclusive and sustainable. This is a must-attend conference for officers and elected members who have an interest in learning more about the practical solutions that already exist, and a desire to take action in their localities.
