Vision for Cooperative Localism

This document is the output of a brainstorming workshop on 7 May in Oldham. Led by the RSA it included policy and communication leads from Knowsley, Newcastle, York and Plymouth.

The aim is to show in a simple visual way how cooperative councils create cooperative places and this leads to positive impacts for people. It needs to be easily understood by a general audience. We identified the most important cooperative principles as a basis for our thinking. This vision needs to be further simplified. We need to explain why this new approach matters and give some powerful examples which show how different it is.We want to know what you think.

  • Is it easy to understand?
  • Does it work for your council?
  • How can it be improved?

The deadline for comments is 10 June. Please send your comments to abigail.melville@rsa.org.uk
