CCIN Members’ Update February 2021

Welcome to the February edition of Update

This month we have witnessed the horrendous milestone of 100,000 loved ones lost to Covid19 – an appalling & tragic loss of life leaving 100,000 families broken and grieving.  Our thoughts are with all colleagues who have lost family, friends and colleagues during the last year and to those that are struggling through Long Covid.  As a Network we stand together and are here for one another.

Thank you to our key workers who continue to deliver our essential services and to those co-engaged alongside our NHS partners ensuring the expedient roll-out of the vaccine. Our thoughts are also with the thousands of parents who are juggling homeschooling alongside their jobs. 
 
Over the last year, communities have come together, partnerships have been forged and there is real opportunity to embed co-operative values into the way we work going forward.  Now is the time for us to embed these ways of working into the New Normal, one in which local councils work as part of a wider local ecosystem, where together we develop a more relational approach to service delivery.
 
The Executive Oversight Committee began its new term of office this month signing-off on several exciting projects which we will be launching over the next few months – look out for further announcements.
