Dear Member

Welcome to the May edition of Update

This month we’re delighted to announce the shortlisted Councils in the Coop of the Year Awards. Voting is now open, and you’re encouraged to vote for your favourite! Co-operatives UK organises the Co-op of the Year Awards, and we were also pleased to see that three of our Affiliate Members have been recognised in other categories.  You can find full details on all those shortlisted and how to vote below.

The Network is currently funding around thirty projects. We can support so many projects because the Network continues to grow! These projects are called Policy Labs and Prototypes.

Policy Prototypes are small projects delivered in a locality and are eligible for up to £1500 of funding.  Policy Labs are more significant collaborative pieces where members work together, and these are eligible for up to £10k of funding.  You can see current and past projects here: https://www.councils.coop/projects/.  This month we feature one of the Policy Prototypes, which has just completed its final report, a Co-operative Engagement Toolkit developed by Rochdale Council in partnership with Action Together.

Three of our Affiliate Members are running free webinars this month: E3M, Mutual Ventures, and Trueman Change.

Do check out the blog from Veronika Susedkova on the latest update from Co-operative Care Colne Valley, a care co-op in Kirklees.  After months and years of ideas, thoughts, preparations and planning they have started to offer care and support in the community.

I hope that you enjoy this Member Update.

Stay safe.

Sharon
