Councillor Sharon Taylor OBE, Chair of the CCIN & Leader of Stevenage Borough Council

Dear Member

Welcome to the October edition of Update

It was a real pleasure to see so many of our Member Councillors at the Labour Party Conference in Brighton last week.  We’re delighted to announce that Liverpool City Council has re-joined the Network following that event. There continues to be a great deal of interest in our Network, and we hope to announce several other new members over the coming months.

Thank you to Cllrs Steve Darling, Leader of Torbay Council and Paul Clark, Deputy Leader of North Herts District Council, who led two sessions at the Liberal Democrat Party Conference which was held online from 17-20 September.

This month we report back on three of our funded Policy Prototypes which look at different elements of the health and social care crisis.  Thank you to everyone involved in these projects as we articulate the Co-operative Difference in our work:

  • Kirklees Adult Social Care Vision – Social Marketing Project – Kirklees Council
  • Innovation in Social Care: Local, Personal and Together – Kirklees Council
  • Connecting communities: Community Transport Policy – Stevenage Borough Council

We are continuing to feature some of our newest Case Studies which appear in the latest Case Studies Pack.  This month we look at projects from Hull City Council and Knowsley MB Council.

Unfortunately, we have decided to postpone our session on New Economic Thinking on 6 October, we will let you know when it’s re-arranged.

I hope that you enjoy this edition of Update.

Take care

Sharon
