Local Authority third-party spend increases 10% to £82.7bn according to new Almanac

The Local Government Third-Party Spend Almanac for 2024 from Oxygen Finance offers a view of expenditure and Carbon emission data across local government in England.

This Almanac covers spend between calendar years 2021 to 2023 and includes a view of:

The latest edition finds that English Local Authority third-party spend rose 10% to £82.7bn in 2023. The two largest spending categories are Vulnerable Citizens & Public Health and Buildings, with 41% and 24% of spend, respectively.
